Trust, Mumbai, has initiated this ambitious
project - Orchid
International School (OIS) at Nashik in Maharashtra.
Since June ’06 OIS has been providing an inspiring, challenging
and innovative education on the beautiful sprawling
hilly terrain of the Anjaneri Hills of the Sahyadri
Ranges on the outskirts of Nashik
in Maharashtra.

A graduate in Fine Arts who is an entrepreneur
with a social bent of mind, Mr. Sapkal has
single-handedly spearheaded many projects
for social cause in and around Buldhana, his
native town. Spreading education has been
very close to his heart and he has been instrumental
in setting up many schools in small towns
and villages of Maharashtra. His aspiration
to contribute something worthwhile to society
led him to put up a new generation school
in Nashik. The grandeur of OIS and its inception
is due to him. |

Mrs. Kalyani R Sapkal, Vice–Chairperson
of the Kalyani Charitable Trust and wife of
the Chairman–cum–Managing
Director Mr. Ravindra G Sapkal, is deeply
involved in all the activities of the Trust.
She has been the motivating force behind Mr.
Ravindra G Sapkal establishing the Company,
Trust and the OIS, Nashik. She has a great
love for books and is a voracious reader.
She is also a successful home maker and has
two well-brought up children

Ramchandani – Member of Board of
Governors
After 33 years as
a member of top management teams of leading
companies, Mr Ramchandani became Doon School’s
first alumnus Headmaster in 1979. He introduced
modern management principles in the school
and transformed its management approach in
a nine-year stint. |

Krushibhushan
Sahebrao Dhondu Patil - Member of Board of
Governors
Krushibhushan Sahebrao Patil is an ‘Innovative
Agriculturist’, who has successfully
grown the best quality bananas, brown berries,
custard apples, pomegranates, jetrofa, sandalwood
and teakwood on the barren lands of Rajwad,
an ideal village in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. He has been honoured
with awards like Krushibhushan, Jijamata Krushibhushan and Vanashree for his extraordinary contributions to the field of
agriculture.

Ms.
Shanta Tendulkar - Invitee Member
Ms. Tendulkar, of
German and Konkan parentage, is a dynamic
leader and a name to be reckoned with in the
spheres of education, be it the ICSE or the
CBSE curriculums. A trained Post Graduate
in English Literature, she has also studied
and worked at the University of Cologne,
Germany, and has travelled widely heading various
institutions. Her pioneering and indefatigable
spirit, disciplined and ethical approach to
education and determination to deliver the
best educational values to the students under
her care has helped her create an indelible
mark for herself in the realms of education.
She is, in fact, the true spirit of commitment
to the cause of education.
